Digital wedding invitations for weddings in Qatar

Doha is a city where a Qatari family, Arab colleagues and international friends can share one guest list. A Dawati invitation is a single link that can speak to each of them in the language they read, and it travels easily between phones in Doha, Al Wakrah, Al Khor and abroad.

A mixed guest list, two languages

Weddings in Qatar often bring together Qatari relatives, Arab residents and guests from far away. Each invitation is written in one language, so order an Arabic link for the family and an English link for the colleagues and friends who read English, and send each group its own.

Wording matters more than decoration. A short formal Arabic card with the family name, the date and the hall reads as respectful, and the English version can be warmer and plainer.

Do not feel that every guest needs the same card. A cousin who lives abroad may only need the date and the hall, while the closest family wants the full plan of the evening. Two links of different length, sent to different groups, can serve both without anyone feeling left out.

The evening, hall and dress

Many Qatari families hold the men's and women's celebrations in separate halls, often in hotels or large reception venues. Put the hall name, the floor if there is one, and the exact map pin in each invitation, and say plainly when the doors open and when the bride arrives.

If there is a dress code, write it in a line of its own. Guests who travel for the occasion will be grateful for a clear note, and the women's evening can carry its own line without the men's card mentioning it.

Hotels in Doha often have more than one hall and more than one entrance, so a vague address can send guests to the wrong lobby. Write the entrance by name and, if the hotel has valet parking, say so. A guest in formal dress arriving at the wrong door is a small embarrassment you can easily prevent.

Dates, time and travel

Qatar is on UTC+3 all year with no daylight saving, the same clock as Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Jordan today. Guests flying in from the UAE or Oman should see the city beside the time, so nobody works out the difference by themselves.

Write both the Hijri and the Gregorian date if your families use both. You type the Hijri date as text, so confirm it against the official calendar before the invitation goes out.

People travelling from abroad should see the date in the form they know. If your family uses the Hijri calendar, add it beside the Gregorian date, and mention that the exact day may follow the official announcement when a moon sighting is involved.

Luxury without noise

If you want something closer to a private invitation suite, the Gulf collection and the luxury designs use deep colour, restrained gold and clear lettering rather than clutter. Open any of the 10 designs full screen before you spend anything, and decide with your family on the same screen.

RSVP gives each household its own link, and a QR code on the guest's phone can be scanned at the entrance, which keeps the door calm on a night with many arrivals.

Open the premium and exclusive designs as well as the free ones. The difference is in the opening and the finish, and the preview on your own phone shows it better than any description. When two families choose together, the preview is also an easy thing to share.
