Hall, entrance and parking
A hotel ballroom can have four entrances. Put the name of the hall, the floor and the entrance in your wording, and drop the map pin on the real door. The map button on the invitation opens each guest's own navigation app, so a driver coming from another city is led to the right gate.
If there is valet parking or a car park a short walk away, write that too. Guests with elderly parents will thank you for the detail.
Dress code, children and gifts
A line such as formal dress, or traditional dress welcome, saves many messages. If children are not invited, say it kindly in the wording rather than leave guests to wonder. If you would rather receive no gifts, or prefer a contribution, you can write that with the same care.

A checklist before you write the card
